RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., U.S.A. (September 24, 2004)
Qualyst, Inc. announced today the issuance of two additional international patents for its revolutionary ADMET products. Qualyst’s product lines are now covered by five issued patents and 24 pending patent applications worldwide.
An Australian patent has been issued for ACCURATE™, Qualyst’s high throughput screen for measuring cytochrome P450 metabolic stability and inhibition, complementing existing patents in New Zealand and the United States. A New Zealand patent has been issued for B-CLEAR™, the industry’s first and only in vitro model for hepatic uptake, excretion and biliary clearance that correlates with in vivo data. The additional patents further extend Qualyst’s global reach in the drug discovery and development marketplace.
“Our intellectual property portfolio continues to mature and strengthen,” said Marc Sedam, Qualyst’s vice president of corporate development. “Global patent protection is core to our business and these patents in Australia and New Zealand, coming so closely on the heels of the B-CLEAR™ patent issuance in the United States, sends a signal that our intellectual property will be strong worldwide. Our customers know that the products and services we offer are unique and provide them with a competitive advantage.”
