Qualyst Announces Hepatic Drug Transport Seminar in San Francisco Bay Area

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., U.S.A. (January 17, 2006)

Qualyst, Inc. today announced that the Company will be hosting a reception and seminar in the San Francisco Bay Area on February 23, 2006. Industry experts will give insight as to the use of B-CLEAR® to predict hepatobiliary clearance and drug-drug interactions.

"Due to the overwhelming response to Qualyst’s first seminar on predictive liver biliary clearance held in Cambridge, MA last fall, we are delighted to repeat this event on the west coast," said Scott E. Neuville, President and Chief Executive Officer of Qualyst. "Pharmaceutical and biotechnology researchers need effective in vitro methods to understand the role of hepatic drug transporters in drug bio-availability and safety. This reception will address B-CLEAR® and its use in discovery as a screen and a source of lead optimization guidance, and in development as a tool to address drug transport questions."

B-CLEAR® is Qualyst’s patented in vitro sandwich-cultured hepatocyte system for the assessment of hepatobiliary disposition, biliary clearance and drug transport.
