Qualyst, Inc. Selected to Present at CEDs Venture 2005, Awarded Biotechnology Center Funding

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., U.S.A. (February 1, 2005)

  The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has selected Qualyst, Inc. to present at Venture 2005. Qualyst also announces its collaboration with UNCChapel Hill and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center on a $100,000 research grant.

  Scheduled for April 26-27, 2005, at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC, CED’s Venture 2005 conference will continue a 22-year tradition of showcasing North Carolina’s innovation economy and leading investment opportunities.

  Venture 2005 is the Southeast's premier venture financing conference. Presented by CED with support from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and the National Venture Capital Association, Venture 2005 will showcase North Carolina's leading early and later-stage companies to hundreds of venture capitalists and financiers from throughout the United States. Venture 2005 (www.cednc.org/venture) will include leading industry speakers, extensive networking opportunities and exclusive investor-only events. Since 1999, Venture presenters have raised over $1.6 billion in venture capital.

  In addition, Qualyst, Inc. announced today the award of a Collaborative Funding Grant from the Biotechnology Center and The Kenan Institute to conduct research in partnership with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Pharmacy. The Grant will fund research in the laboratory of Dr. Hongbin Wang, directed towards high throughput mechanisms to predict drug-drug interactions. Total funding for this two-year award is $100,000.
